I’ll do some further digging, but it looks like WordPress has changed how shortcodes work.

In pre-4.4 you could use [flag=’de’], but not that doesn’t work. There needs to be a space before the ‘=’; e.g. [flag =’de’]

Hi, thank you for the quick answer!
I checked and it is because of that. When I put the space in the shortcode the flags re-appeared.

Great move from WP team with this change on shortcodes. Now I’ll have fun fixing around 150 flags around my site and then I’ll go and see if some other stuff broke because of the new format for shortcodes -____-‘

This issue is being tracked as a bug (34939) and will hopefully be fixed soon.

oh, so I’ll have to change them back when they fix it?

4.3 worked with or without a space so if you change it you won’t need to change them back.
