Stopped work

  • Plugin stopped work. [PollMe form=’Example’] nothing found, I see only shortcode on the site. Options in OptionsPanel its mixed, all words are shake, AskButton =>(?) not work, I click on the button but nothing work.

    Please send a screen shot. Also please disable all other plugins and see if it works.
    It sound like something is interfering with the plugin.

    A new version is in the works. That should also address this.
    It is a big rewrite and with our current work load will take time too be released.

    Is there anything I can do in the meantime to get it working before the big update? Is the problem a small one? I get the poll and everything seems all right it just doesn’t send the data to the database now. I even receive an email after someone votes and the animated image shows at the end.

    This isn’t a small problem. The plugin doesn’t really have foreign language support which is the cause of the above problems.

    I will try English questions and answers then. Maybe that will fix everything for now ?? Can’t wait for the next version. This plug-in looks great. Is there anything I can help you with the speed up things? I can write polls in Japanese or other languages for you ?? Also test code even if it is just a beta version.

    The limiting thing is how mysql deals with special characters.
    So avoid these in form names and questions as it is these that become tables names and fields. We have tried to correct this in the past but these where the more common european type of characters.
    Thanks for the offer, I’ll keep this in mind when we are a little nearer completion.

    I changed everything into English and could see a user selected option 2 in the email I got. It is almost working ?? Are there any other plug-ins like this that I can use for now? I can switch back after this one gets fixed it if is going to take a while to fix. Even just a fix for the data being saved for now would be great and then later on a major update after that. Sorry for asking for so much. It looks like a great plug-in and every thing is almost working in English.

    The plugin should save the data as long as you do not use simple names and questions as these will be used in the database.

    My quiz looks like this:

    How many times a week do you take English lessons now?
    1 time a week
    2 times a week
    3 times a week
    4 times a week
    5 or more times a week.

    But the score isn’t being updated when a user clicks on vote… Should it work?

    I’m on WordPress 3.2.1.

    What do you mean by simple names and questions? Do I have to remove the question mark?

    If the same user keeps voting it will no be recorded. If it is different users it might be caching. Check the table to see if the results are being added if it is neither.

    By simple questions , I mean try to remove any special characters, keep it breid and no html.

    The plugin is designed to strip out most of these things but there are exceptions to overrule and we might no catch them all.
