Stopped Loading in some fields after 3.9

    Firefox 28
    TinyMCE 1.3.3

    After upgrading to 3.9, I no longer get a WYSWYG editor on some fields. Other fields still get the normal WYSWYG editor.

    On a form where I do get an editor – e.g., edit Pages or Posts – I see this in the javascript console (no warnings or errors):
    Deprecated TinyMCE API call: <target>.onBeforeSetContent.add(..)

    On a form where I no longer get an editor – e.g., TM Lunch Menu plugin, I get absolutely nothing in the javascript console. Again no warnings or errors, but also no deprecated call note.

    Both working and non-working pages have a script section with tinyMCEPreInit and the qtInit parts seem to have the correct textarea element IDs.

    The TM Lunch Menu plugin has not changed at all. Any debugging advice would be really helpful.

    Are you sure are you posting in the right place? What do you mean with “some fields”? Our plugin just adds the ability to use the visual editor in widgets, but it doesn’t affect the default visual editor used in Pages/Posts editing or in other fields based on 3rd party plugins.
    I tried the TM Lunch Menu plugin that you mentioned, but it looks like it hasn’t WYSIWYG fields at all.

    I figured it was another plugin that was causing yours to not show any text elements – no worries

    It’s entirely possible I’m in the wrong spot. I thought the plugin was responsible for adding a WYSIWYG editor. I may have mixed it up since both are labeled “TinyMCE”. Sorry about the mix up.

    The TM Lunch Menu plugin did have WYSWYG fields prior to WP 3.9. But if your plugin has nothing to do with general WP’s general WYSWYG editor, this really isn’t the right place for debugging.

    hold off there partner before closing ticket your plugin does not work well with WP 3.p – editor only shows in html and NOT visual mode

    Hi jcolome, you said you figured out it was another plugin so I marked it as resolved. Anyway feel free to start a new thread with a better description of your problem (please read the FAQ about how to post a complete issue report).

    when i click on “visual” all i see is html code – no visual. I deactivated all plugins and still get that.

    Does the issue occur only for widgets or even for post/pages?

    Note: This topic was related to a specific error message (Deprecated TinyMCE API call: <target>.onBeforeSetContent.add(..)), which was not related to our plugin, and also to compatibility with TM Lunch Menu plugin.
    If your issue is not related to that particular error or to that particular plugin, please open a new topic, and above all provide all the information that may be useful to analyze the problem (as I already said, please read the FAQ about which information you shoul provide).
    Unfortunately if you don’t provide enough information, we cannot help you.
