• Hello,

I have noticed that stop words are not working correctly. Or maybe im just not using and expecting Yoast SEO to work as expected.

In FOCUS KEYWORD i type in my keyword eg. “DIG HOLE”

My content has the keyword numerous times with a stop word eg. DIG “A” HOLE or DIG “SOME” HOLE.

These are not being registered by the plugin and it says that CONTENT, TITLE etc do not contact focus keyword.

I am under the impression that the plugin should be disregarding the STOP words hence my content is ok.

I have tried other plugins that i use and they do infact disregard stop words but not Yoast plugin.

What am i doing wrong or infact is there something wrong ?

    Thanks.

  • Yes seems I get the same problem after upgraded to latest version of WordPress SEO. The last version seems to work fine on removing the stop words.

I think i have had the problem for a while actually. Very annoying.. anyway i hope there is a fix for it.

This has always been the case for me on the Yoast plugin and most other plugins…

Seems this feature is not restored in the latest update. Hope you can help to restore it back, as I find it very helpful indeed.

    Many thanks.

Same problem here with latest version (2.1.1) with multiple themes.

Awesome, 9 months later and still and issue, way to go Joost :/

This functionality just doesn’t work. I foolishly ditched the plugin I was using for this when I realised the Yoast plugin, which is on all my sites anyway, does this.

Still not fixed? Wow, the plugin I used to use works fine, and it’s not been updated in 8 years…
