Stop New Media Manager Defaulting to Media Library

I don’t know anyone else handles uploads but i generally upload attachments to a page then do a custom query for the images, so i can do slideshow carousels etc

All was good when i used to do stuff this way for clients but the new media manager in 3.5 now defaults to media library all the time rather than images attached to the current page.

Is there a way to override this as quite a few of my clients are very confused with the new functionality.
