Stop what appear to be emails sent from site contact form

    On some 1, 2 sites that I run, I get error messages from the mail server saying emails sent from the site contact form could not get to mostly non-existent recipients.

    An example of header:

    Subject: Re: Affected-site e.V. “Meninas sexy para a noite em sua cidade”
    From: [email protected]
    Date: 24.01.2019, 04:39
    To: [email protected]

    The fact is according to Statcounter, no one has been on the site the last couple of days and so this is likely to be bot-based.
    I’m using Contact Form 7.

    How can this be effectively stopped? This has become a nuisance with a good number of spam mails, some probably successfully sent too legitimate recipients.
