You have to replace your email address in the database as well. I mean, just replace your email address with the email of the client.

Try this; you won’t get emails after this.

He mentioned that he removed himself as a user. this mean that his user entry will be deleted from the database

Removing user itself doen not mean that the change has been made to its admin_email as well. As admin email can not be empty it must be there. If you have removed a user it will just delet that user from the user table but the admin_email will remain unchanged.
