Stop filters refining / filters independent

Hello,
My shop filter is pretty simple, it just has categories and brands.
How do I make the filters independent in the shop sidebar? E.g. if I click a category and then a brand, I end up with filters=berocket_brand[685]|product_cat[639].
I’d prefer if doesn’t do an AND and just e.g. loads all products in that brand berocket_brand[685] and be independent as these customers won’t be refining, they’ll be browsing. Thanks!
PS Refining within the filter itself should still apply, e.g. category clothes> shows should still work and brand > Hygain > Krais, but going from brand to category or vice versa should be independent.
