Stop author from receiving ping/trackback notifications

We want to receive notifications and have it set to hold for approval in comments on our site but I want to stop the authors from getting notification emails regarding ping/trackbacks. I know you can do this per post, but I want to stop them from getting them all together. I thought there was a setting for this but I don’t see it anymore in settings. They still want to get comment notifications. Is there anyway to do this?
