Stock value parent with variations

I’m trying to get the variations of a product to correspond with the parents stock.
To explain the situation.My client has a website where they sell wine on. In the webshop the wine can be sold in amounts of:
3 x 0,75 liter
6 x 0,75 liter
12 x 0,75 literNow they all have a different price and do not go up with the same steps in price either.
The overall stock of the wine is lets say 60. Now when a package of 12 bottles is being bought. The system should count that only 48 bottles are left. However it only sees the product as 1… and makes it 59.
How can I make it so, when a variation is being selected it nows the value of that variation, and takes that away from the total stock of the parent, when the product is being bought eventually.
