Stock update and concurrent order

Hi all,

I was experimenting with handling stock through WooCommerce and I was wondering whether there could be any race condition between a stock quantity update by the shop manager and a concurrent order. I concede it’s very rare but could it happen that when the shop admin sets the new stock quantity for a product and a customer purchases the same item, somehow the new quantity setting will override the -1 generated by the order?

Should I put the shop offline prior to updating stock?
