    Hello.

When clicking on the link provided, you can basically choose how many items of the different products you want. If you click on one of the options before going into the actual product, stock status will show up 2 times, which looks pretty bad.

The problem we’re having is we have recently changed most products to be variable products. this because some customers wants to buy cartons of our products, and some just want single packs.

So – how can we prevent this stock status from showing up like this? I thought it might have something to do with parent product, but also when disabling inventory management on parent product, and only having it on the 2 variable ones, it still shows up like this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

  • Hi @ecoengros!

    Thank you for reaching out.

I checked your site and confirmed I could see two stock statuses different from each other.

Is this the issue you are referring to?

If correct, it seems that could be coming from a YITH plugin you have on your site:

As a first step, to be sure of this, please perform a conflict test on your site to find the culprit of the issue.

You can do this by temporarily switching your theme back to Storefront, disabling all plugins except WooCommerce, and then check again if the issue persists.

If that solves it, reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, reactivate your other plugins, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

If you cannot perform a conflict test on your live site, we recommend creating a staging site using the WP Staging plugin.

Before you proceed, always be sure you have a good backup of your site and database in place so that if something goes wrong, you can restore your site to a functioning state.

You can find a more detailed explanation of how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

Let us know how that goes for you!

Hello. thanks for responding. I might not have been clear enough. I’m trying to post a picture here but don’t know how to do that. If you go to the same link (on top), scroll down just a little bit. Then click on the numbers. For example “50 stk” or “800 stk” This means the number of products you want to purchase.

If you click on either of these while on the category page, you’ll see stock status showing up twice. it will say “p? lager” and right underneath it will also say “p? lager”

Just to be clear – we are managing what we have in stock on both of these items, we just don’t want it to show up twice. it looks pretty bad.

Hope this makes sense or I will try to be more clear.

Hi @ecoengros. Thanks for clarifying. I think I see the issue you’re referring to:

The cause of this wouldn’t be the fact that there are two variations, most likely, but rather the fact that somehow the same stock status element is getting copied when you click on the variation option. (In other words, these two stock status elements don’t correspond to the two variations. It’s just a coincidence that the stock status shows up twice and there are two variations on the product.)

The cause of this would depend on how you’re adding the ability to select variations on the shop page, as this is not something that is possible with WooCommerce by default. Normally, variations can only be selected on the individual product page for a product. Is this functionality being added through a plugin, or your theme, or something else?

    Thanks!
