Stock status not visible on back-end

Hey @rikard69,

The first thing I would check is to make sure the “Enable Stock Management” option is selected.

Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory and you’ll see a checkbox for that. Check that and save your changes.

It’s enabled. Sorry, I should have pointed that out.

I have tried regenerating the product lookup table, but it didn’t help.

Disabling all plug-ins and reverting to 2020 Theme didn’t help.

I noticed the error when people started buying products that had been marked as out of stock, but where the stock level wasn’t reduced to zero. This is not just a visual thing, the whole functionality of stock status is gone.

That is really unusual. Good troubleshooting steps too.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here.

We’ll see if it has any clues for us about what’s going on here.

Hi,

I tried removing WooCommerce and reinstalling it, but it didn’t help.

When I toggle the manage stock on product level OFF, the stock status dropdown is visible. I guess this is a faulty behavior, not a functionality change from older versions?

What could have happened here?

I made a major update from 3.3 to 3.9 i February, by incrementally upgrading WooCommerce step by step.
Could it be that a database change did’t run correct? But reinstalling WC should have fixed that, right?
Could it be something in functions.php or other files from old that conflicts with the new version?

Options when stock management at product level is disabled. You are responsible for updating the Stock Status.”

So everything works as designed. I didn’t know the design had changed.

The implication is that if you have an old version of WC, where you had stocklevels AND the flag “Out of stock”, you should before upgrading find all products with this combo and set all to stock level = 0.
