We are having issues with our Woocommerce store. We thought it was theme related but on changing to a new theme we are still experiencing the issue.

When an order is put through the product stock will be on 11 for example, once the order status has changed to processing the order stock goes to zero and not 10. If an order is on hold, pending payment, the stock amount remains correct it is only when the status changes to processing that the stock zero’s incorrectly.

Site is on the latest version of WordPress and Woocommerce and is using PHP 8.3

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @christinepowelldrew

I understand that you’re encountering an issue with stock management where the order status changes to Processing, the quantity is not being reduced correctly and goes straight to 0.

Could you please confirm if the issue persists with the Storefront theme and a default WordPress theme?

    I would recommend these:

    1. From WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory, ensure that “‘Enable stock management”‘ is checked.
    2. If you’re able to confirm that it is not an issue with the theme. I suggest performing a complete conflict test. Other plugins can interfere with WooCommerce’s functionality. To rule this out, temporarily deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and see if the issue persists. If it resolves, reactivate the plugins one by one, checking each time to identify the one causing the conflict.

If you’ve tried the above steps and the issue persists, please provide us with more details, such as:

    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerceStatus. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerceStatusLogs.

    Best regards,
