    Hello,

Some of my products have 1 unit available in stock. These products are showing a stock error in the basket or at the checkout.

The cart the following error message appears:

“Sorry, we do not have enough ‘product name’ in stock to fulfil your order (1 available).”

The ‘out of stock’ threshold is set to 0, so that is not the issue.

Here is an example but please note that I cannot leave it with the error, so I’ve had to put ‘2’ units into stock so that it doesn’t show the stock error. So, you won’t see the error itself if you try (I will simply lose sales like this):

If a customer has added this product to their cart, that item will be held for them while they continue shopping. It’s likely that this is what is happening.

To test if this, you can go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools. You’ll see an option there to Clear Customer Sessions. That will remove any items currently stored in carts. If the item is back in stock after clearing customer sessions, then it means the 1 that you had in stock was in someone’s cart.

You can change how long inventory is held without payment by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory. There you’ll see the Hold Stock setting:

You can adjust that to a shorter time period if you want.

Hi Phil, fantastic thank you! I found the problem was with the ‘hold inventory’ time setting, I have reduced it and everything is fine now. Thank you!
