Still works! WP 4.7.3

  • You need to go to your WP admin menu –> Settings –> Hide Featured Image. It’s there, just not on the Plugins page.

    It hides the featured image on the post/page, but I can still grab the set featured image for other uses like widget thumbnails. Perfect!
