Have the Yoast team overlooked the GitHub topic to allow disabling the timestamp on the homepage, all other pages, product pages, irrelevant custom post types etc, or are they just going to ignore it and force their users to navigate around a really confusing timestamp that in most cases won’t even show in the Google SERPS?

    Hello Deeveearr,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Our product team assesses feature requests in relation to other open bug reports and new features. Based on their assessment, the feature request will be given a priority. Our developers work on the highest priority first. Unfortunately, this means we cannot give you an estimate if or when they’ll start working on your request.

I can appreciate that @maybellyne but is it going to be a ‘yea’ or a ‘nay’?

Or do I dig in and get my hands dirty on a new SEO plugin?

    Hi @deeveearr ,

We understand you’re waiting for an update on this request. Unfortunately, we don’t have any news yet. Any update will be posted in the Github report once it’s available.

Well, there are some compensations of course – just noticed that all of my competitors that haven’t noticed this embedded timestamp have dropped from high ratings in Google SERPS down to nowhere.

Good job I noticed, or I’d have been moaning about that too!

Is this an anti-SEO plugin now?

I’ll recommend Yoast 14.9 to all my competitors then!

The best place to know if it’s going to be a ‘yea’ or a ‘nay’ would be the GitHub issue itself. The issue currently doesn’t have a high priority because this change does not influence SEO directly. I’d like to invite you to contribute to the discussion on GitHub.

Because of the above, we cannot answer your question here and I’ll set this topic to “resolved”.
