I know this should be easy but for some reason I still can’t figure it out.
I already asked this question in the other forums here dedicate to the pro plugins I am using but still no answers….so I am once again asking here:

Very simply put, I have a shop that sells a fresh food product that requires 2 day shipping to certain shipping zones in the US. My shop also has dry goods that don’t need 2 day shipping but people usually buy the fresh and dry goods together so it all works out. However some people just want to buy the dry goods and don’t want to pay for two day (expensive shipping). So yes this is very easy to set up with shipping classes and flat rates I think but I am using a UPS plug in that gives live rates, etc and I have no idea how to make this work…basically I want it to be that if somebody just has some dry goods in the cart it will show more UPS options for cheaper shipping…right now it defaults to 2 day air because of the fresh items(and we don’t want to enable cheaper options in case somebody clicks the wrong shipping for the fresh items) Hope somebody understands. Looking for all the help I can get. Thank you.

  • Hey @kabbalisticvillage,

Thanks for the thorough explanation of what you have in mind. Since you’re using UPS live rates, that does change the options available as you mentioned.

I would recommend taking a look at the Advanced Shipping Packages extension. It lets you create rules about what shipping options are available when certain products are purchased. Unlike some of the similar extensions, it will let orders go through that have different shipping requirements by breaking orders up into different boxes each with their own shipping methods.

If you do want to give it a try, there is a 30 day refund window. That way if it doesn’t end up fitting your needs, you can get your money back.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers
