Still receiving update for 7.0 version even though I chose not to upgrade

  • Hi Jeff,
    I chose not to upgrade to version 7.0 of your plugin and having chosen that option and saved my preferences, I was hoping to only receive notification to update for version 6.4.16. However it seems that going forward, everyone will get notification for updates for version 7 and upward regardless of their preferences. I am of course not going to click on ‘update’ however, my worry is that I will now have future updates sitting on my dashboard. Is there any way of stopping version 7 updates from being sent to users like me?

  • I am in the same position, how do I stop the 7.0 update notifications and only receive the 6.4 updates?

    As of now, there is no way to not receive the update notifications. I don’t foresee there even needing to be any more updates to the 6.4 branch, but it there is, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there. Updates may have to be handled manually.

    I don’t anticipate there being a problem, but just for the sake of knowing, what happens if someone clicks on update by mistake? Is there a way of reverting back to version 6.4 without breaking the website?

    If you have 6.4.16 installed and you checked the option to stay on the 6.4 branch, it will not allow you to install the update, provided TML is active.

    Jeff, that is simply not true. I have the radio button set to stay on 6.4 branch and my site update to 7.0 when I clicked the update button. I had to revert back to 6.4.16 via FTP. I tested it because I was concerned that my clients may click the “check all” box on the update page and update to 7.0. Sure enough, it updated when I did.

    Hi Jeff, thanks but I think I’ll pass. To be honest, I do like this pared down version. And I really don’t want to take any chances with my website getting in all sorts of trouble.
