Still not Tweeting on 6.7.1

    In an effort to keep up with the progress of TOP, I decided to give the new model another try, having been unable to get it to work previously.

    I completely uninstalled the old version, as per some advice I read from another user on here, de-authorised TOP, revoked access on Twitter and started from scratch.

    However, even though it produces a sample Tweet, it still does not post a real Tweet.

    The sample has my custom shortened URL correct, so I don’t think there is an issue there and I have TOP authorised in my Twitter account.

    One other problem is that the sample Tweets only contain one hashtag even though there are several tags in the posts.

    I’m getting a bit fed up re-installing the old version but I am doing so again because it’s the only way I can keep the plugin doing its stuff.

    Just a note to say that I re-installed 4.0.10 and as soon as I saved my settings (the same as the screen grab in my previous post) and clicked Tweet Now, it Tweeted straight away – so it oughtn’t be a problem with the settings.

    HI Zumatra,

    Thank you for the feedback, I just identified and issue when you have a different timezone setting in your dashboard that was fixed in 6.7.2 .

    I hope it solve your issue also

    Hello,

    I’m afraid not but there was some change – the message at the top of the page actually had a countdown from ~20s and then said it had sent the message to Twitter but the confirmation never appeared, neither did the Tweet.

    I tried de-authorising and re-authorising but it made no difference – it still isn’t working for me.

    The resolved/non-resolved doesn’t really matter, we are here to resolve your issue :).

    Do you get any error after those 20sec ? Are you willing to share the connection details for investigation ?

    I’m back on 4.0.10 again now.

    I have swapped between 4.0.10 and the latest version and back again three times today, I’m a bit fed up with it, to be honest. I think I’ll stick with something which half works for now. But I see other people are having very similar problems to me so I don’t think it is anything I have done wrong.

    What about doing a survey to see if there are any common factors linking those whose TOP works and those whose TOP doesn’t work. I read that time zone could be a factor, what about date format, for example?

    By the way, if date format seems like a stupid suggestion, it’s because I know nothing about writing code but I do know about troubleshooting.

    @globalhelpswap What exactly isn’t working, more details will help. Have you tried to re-authentificate ? sample tweets are working ? any error ?

    @zumatra As I said before the solution from my point of view is to be willing to contribute, I was able to fix some very important issues by being able to get into clients sites and dig it further.

    I know is a security issue, but unfortunately I can’t see other solution

    I have the same issue. I have uninstalled, unauthenticated, revoked Twitter access, reinstalled and reuthenticated but it still doesn’t work.

    I’m using WordPress 3.9 and my timezone is GMT

    The sample tweet works, but I cant get anything to post to Twitter.

    The message at the top reads “Tweet Old Post is set to tweet on a 4 hours interval, and the next tweet will take place in: Your tweet was just sent to twitter server, wait 5s for a confirmation below. Refresh the page to see when the next one will be posted.
    Once you click start tweet a tweet will be sent in 15 sec, also here you can see the error message if is any.”

    @seasonticketless This issue for me looks quite specific to your website enviroment, since for all the website I have tested it works fine.
