• I have a shortcut form called Class Registration (link above) with “Class Registration” selected as the trigger event on the Notifications tab. In the To field I tried both my personal email addresses and an email addresses set up at my host that forwards to my personal email address. In the From field, I tried both somebody else’s personal email address and a different email address set up at my host. I did all this with all other plugins deactivated. No email is ever received by the host in any status (success, deferred, failure or in progress). Customer support at my host says there’s nothing they can think of to explain the difficulty. I’ve spent the better part of two days doing everything I can think of to make this work.

Two other plugins, when activated, Post SMTP (which sends test emails) and Contact Form 7, both do send email.

There is an interesting statement in the documentation: “To add notification actions use the?wp_crm_notification_actions?filter, then call the action within?wp_crm_send_notification()?function, and the messages association with the given action will be fired off.” This would presumably allow me to add a notification for something other than a shortcut form, maybe like any row added or updated, but I have no idea how to even find what I need to change, much less change it. I searched in the plugin files but could find neither the filter nor the function.

I reported this problem a few days ago and even had a brief meeting with WP-CRM technical support about it, but I did not have the money it would take to get support. I’m a volunteer worker. So, if anybody who reads this can help, I will sincerely appreciate it.

    Thank you.

    Hello.

Do other trigger actions work for you? How do you register users on your site?

    Regards.

Hello Maria, and thanks for asking about this. I could not resolve the issue so finally after weeks of trying everything I could think of to make it work, I deleted the plugin and went with another one, called Participants Database, which does work and does send notifications. (I did find a solution to the problem by writing a custom confirmation page template with coding that sent email, but that was pretty clunky.)

But to answer your questions, yes, other trigger actions all worked. And I wasn’t registering users on the site because I was going to do so with this plugin, which didn’t work.
