    Hi,

This week I’ve an problem with setting up Contact Form 7 plugin with one of my websites and I can’t make self clear of the problem.

I added an e-mailadres based upon domain site on the following:
    To: [email protected]
    From: [email protected]

But I get the same message back @ my mailbox:
Example: [email protected] on behalf WordPress. That’s kinda strange because I’ve the same e-mailadress in the To and From from the website domain.

I try this whole afternoon and I can’t find the problem nor the solution. At my other websites works perfectly and I try to copy from that, but the problem stays. Is their an workaround?

Can I use plugin WP-Mail-SMTP if so, need I to set up the SMTP function or PHP Mailer?

    Thanks in advance!

    Sincerely,
    Bas

I’ve tried many things yesterday late in the evening and this morning till now. But it stays: [email protected] on behalf of WordPress.

    Hi Basz,

Could it be because your wordpress and email are located in the same server and for this reason it creates a loopback and displays that email address?

Have you tried changing the “To” to a different email address that is external? Say GMAIL for testing purposes?

Let me know how you get on!

    Hi Rob,

    Thanks for your reply.

I use CF7 many times for different WP websites (production).

I tried, but the problem remain. It’s an business website, so I don’t use @gmail for that ;).

Normally it’s good with the To and From adresses from the email on the same server with WordPress and email. It’s something different than that, and I can’t figure out where the problem came from after many years ago.

WordPress and all plugins etc are up-to-date.

What I do it remains: [email protected] on behalf of WordPress.

Another thing is I need to add-on and filter in the functions.php from the theme that I using.

    Hi Bas,

I mentioned using GMAIL just for testing purposes, not to leave it as that…. If it is shared hosting it might possibly be changes they have made on the server….

    Just a thought….

    Rob
