Still good, and getting better

  • I use this plugin on most of my websites. The single stars given on this plugin is just not correct. The tool is free, and works excellent. Lots of documentation and best practices are explained on their homepage. The recent updates were to roll out a newer and better version, and sometimes you only find out that some things are not compatible with other plugins after you rolled out a new version (I did not have ANY problem by the way on my 20 or so websites…). There have been update fixes published very quickly, these guys work really fast and correct once a fault is identified.
    Feel free to look for an alternative, I stick with the best I know.

  • Yep, it seems like it works for some and not for others. You seem pretty defensive but that doesn’t change the fact that the thing completely borks on many people’s systems (see, my comment) – I’d be interested in knowing if you’ve got the plug-in ‘advanced custom fields’ installed. (also see my comment)

    If you’re interested, you might could install ACF just to see the results. Uninstalling it afterwards seems to have no ill effects.

    Hey, I do not have the advanced custom fields installed, so no idea. The visual something plugin also seems to have had a problem. I do notice they’re rolling out fixes in short succession, so am sure they’re aware and working on it.
    Of course it is not funny when something blocks your site, but I always back up before I upgrade, at least for the major upgrades, roll back is easy then.
    I’m not affiliated in any way with the Yoast guys & gals, but just find 1-star reviews unfair. Roll back, post the problem on the forum, and wait for the fix. If that fix does not happen, or more problems occur more often, then feel free to give single stars. In this case I really appreciated what they are doing. And they do react and try to solve things asap. For free…
