Still giving me notifications

  • Hi,

    A client is receiving emails giving him alerts about Askimet even though both the Askimet and Wordfence plugin is not installed.

    How can I make this stop?

  • If they are sending notices then the aren’t uninstalled. What the client may have done is backed up the site to another folder in the public_html directory and then deleted the plugins from the original directory. The backup directory would still be executing PHP and the emails would still send. Have them check that because if Wordfence is deleted from the plugins directory there is no reason I can see that it could still send emails and I expect Akismet is the same way.
