    Hi Support,

I have activated this plugin and using on contact form with [honeypot email-2343] this shortcode. This plugin is not stopping spam. I have still getting spam emails and form submission.
Please tell me what is the solution for this issue because we have continued getting spam and your plugin is not working.

    Please reply fast!

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Same for me. I didn’t receive spam for a long time, but since January it I get a lot of spam. First I thought it were manual submitted forms, but the amount I see now really makes me think they are autosubmitted.

I use the latest version of WP, CF7, and Honeypot for CF7.

I changed the fieldname again. And will keep an eye out. If this works, it’s okay. If not, I will report back.

Unfortunately, it only took a week before the spam started reappearing again. Changed the field name yesterday, but within a few hours it continued. Now I receive a spam every 3 minutes. Either something is not working correctly, or somebody is overzealous in manually adding spam messages.

If you’re using a honeypot field with an attractive name for bots (i.e. “website” or “email”), and spam is still getting through, it would seem the bots that are hitting your site are too smart for a honeypot solution. I would highly recommend Google’s ReCaptcha v3, as it’s pretty hidden and low key.
