Still getting email notifications after deleting plugin!
-
I disabled and uninstalled the Broken Link Checker plugin several years ago from two websites. But I have continued to receive dozens of broken link notifications weekly, sometimes daily, in my email.
I examined my WordPress installation via FTP, and there is no trace of the plugin in my plugins directory.
What the heck is going on? Does the plugin leave behind files in directories other than the plugin directory that might cause this? I’m stumped.
The emails come from noreply@https://(mywebsite.com). Does anyone recognize this as the standard wording?
A user tried to go to https://(mywebsite.com)/?author=18 and received a 404 (page not found) error. There must be a broken link on the site that you need to fix.
The user came from https://(mywebsite.com)/Thanks to ANYBODY smart enough to shed light on this or suggest how I might investigate further.
