• Despite the new owners’ promise to the contrary, nothing has been done to fix the broken forms in WP 5.6. For now, your options are:

    1. Switch to another form plugin
    2. Roll back to WP 5.5
    3. Install the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin and revert to the Legacy 1.12.4-wp version of jQuery

Hoping the developers will see this support request and let us know when the problem is fixed.

  • I’m running 5.6 and no issues. BUT – using Lightspeed.

I have a VPS using Apache and it does not work. I mean, I attempt to use the form and it does not move forward to send.

So are we sure its WordPress 5.6? Or server related?

I’m also using Litespeed (OpenLitespeed). I’m sure it’s not the server — rolling back to legacy jQuery fixes the problem of forms not submitting.

BTW if you look at the support stats for this plugin, they’re miserable: 3 out of 42 resolved topics.

Oh yes, many issues I had seen. I got it to work on my VPS 100%, no rollbacks and also the lightspeed sever. PHP version? I’m on 7.3.

    7.4 here.

thankyou seezee for pointing out the options of a workaround – i have wp5.6 and php 7.4.14 and the use of the jquery migrate helper seems to have fixed the nonfunctional form.
hopefully, caldera soon fixes this wp5.6 incompatibitliy!

I wound up uninstalling Caldera and using another plugin, after opening a support ticket and getting no response. Soon after, I got this email from Caldera support:

    Hi,

Can you use this beta version of the next release of Caldera Forms.
    https://github.com/CalderaWP/Caldera-Forms/releases/download/1.9.4-b1/1.9.4-b1.zip

    Please:
    Deactivate Caldera Forms
    Install the beta
    Activate the beta
You will then have two versions of Caldera Forms installed. When the stable version of Caldera Forms is released you can delete the beta and update Caldera Forms.

If you’re still trying to solve this, you might download the beta & follow the instructions.

@seezee What other plugin did you switch to? I did not find a satisfying replacement with a free version?

@alexhaid I used a combination of Contact Form 7 and various plugins that extend CF7 (conditional fields, multistep, database, noCaptcha) + my own plugin that stops CF7 scripts from loading except on pages with forms.

    Hi everyone

tried the beta above and tested it. As it seems in all broken forms “save” button appears again and is working.

–> tried before in Caldera Version 1.9.3 to make the button via dev console visible, but saving breaks the entire form…

Also in Beta Version 1.9.4-b1 all processors (auto-respond, etc.) are working again and rules are shown. We got hugh amount of different CF forms on our webpage and tested several forms in frontpage too.

    May this helps others too.

    Best Regards Marc

    UPDATE to our last reply:

we noticed a issue while using the BETA 1.9.4-b1 as long as the beta version is active, the page content – we use a layout builder theme – is not loaded. The layout builder content could not be loaded, loading circle is running and running….. our theme we use is “enfold”. When deactivating the beta and switch to cf 1.9.3 it works again and layout builder is loaded properly.
