sticky post changes display

    I’d like to have a particular post be the main one that always shows first on the front page. When I change it to a sticky post it changes the nice arrangement of 4 posts in a row below one main post, which I so like about the Expound theme.
    I could keep changing the date to make the post the first one, but I’m baffled by why making a post sticky would change the formatting. Any suggestions?

    Hey there! The featured section is ordered by date, but if you can manage some programming in PHP, since version 1.7 you can override the expound_get_featured_posts function in a child theme or plugin and create your own logic. The new function should return a new WP_Query object.
