    Hi,

I’ve a slight problem with the plugin. It does exactly what I need and i’m grateful but there is a slight problem.

When scrolling, the header starts flickering uncontrollably in a jumping manner. It appears to be at the point of the “Scroll Distance” which is set. (currently 60px).
It also appears that the issue occurs if the remaining scroll distance on the page is less than the specified “Scroll Distance” of the header or the height of the header so it appears to be rapidly switching between the sticky header effect and the normal header.

    Currently it’s tested on a 1920x1080p monitor
    Current Version 1.3.2

Hi, the jumping issue can be caused by negative margins. Instead of using negative margins just enable the “transparent header” option. It also looks like the transitions aren’t working correctly. What version of the plugin are you using? I just updated it the other day with fixes for the transition. Let me know, thanks

    Hi,

    Current Version 1.3.2
I’m not using negative margins. I have some set to zero but none negative.
Also the transparent header does not work well with my theme (I’m not sure about others) as my content falls behind the header.

You can take a look as I have enabled the transparent header.

Have you tried temporarily changing to a stock WordPress theme like 2019 to see if this problem continues?

    Hi,

I just tested with 2019 and the problems persist.
Content still falls behind the header with “transparent header” set and the jumping still occurs when the conditions i initially mentioned are met.

Hmm, that is odd. unfortunately I’m away from my computer at the moment but I will be back to it later and I will look into this further

    Hi,

    Sure thank you

@sajetek something weird is going on with that page. I can see all transitions to be 300ms but it’s not being applied at all. Something is stopping the commanded code from being applied to the page elements.
Are you or your hosting using any kind of caching or code minification?

    Thread Starter sajetek

    (@sajetek)

I have used no caching or minification. I have a few custom css for aligning a couple layouts but none pertaining to the header.
Apart from that, i’m using one theme and plugins.
I’m seeing one error in the console pertaining to the navbar but that is ruled out for now because i disabled the navbar plugin and still the issue persists.

I just tested in Edge & IE and it works fine, just a single jump when trasitioning into the sticky header. The continuous jumps occur (in edge & IE) only if i drag the scrollbar down but it gives a single jump when using the mouse scrolling.

The continuous jumps occurs in chrome and firefox (browsers I have tested) regardless of scrolling with the mouse or scrollbar

I recently had this issue on a client site that didn’t even have my plugin installed. I’m not sure why that page was doing it and I don’t know why this is happening on your page. I’m not even positive it’s my plugin causing this.
If you email me [email protected] perhaps I can help you further. I would really like to figure this out for you. I’m sorry that I haven’t been much help so far.
