I was looking at a live account, we were using to beta test our badges, and found in the users profile that the set images for achievement types are not being pulled into the completed steps section. It pulls in the default image of the thumbs up. I am not sure what these “steps” are used for, because when you click on the link, the info is blank even thought the created badge settings are complete.

Any idea on what, why or how they should be used?

Steps are actually their own post type from us, and are used for the “Awarded by completing steps” version of how to earn an achievement. They are purposely not given their own UI editor screen, as far as I’m aware, and thus they end up with the default “thumbs up” graphic for their achievement image. More often than not, at least as far as I can think of for use cases, it’s not desirable to show all of the meta/content available for a step, and instead just list the title. For example “Log in 4 times”.

Hope that clears up your questions, but let me know and I can elaborate or answer more as best I can.

So we should not delete the thumbs up images in the media gallery? There seems to be quite a few listed.

Depends on if you’re ever purposely displaying current steps to your users. If you’re only wanting to ever show the completed badges or other achievement types you’ve set up, it should be fine to delete them.

I think there’s a GitHub issue regarding the multiplication of them in the media library as you go along, but I don’t think we have a final solution for it.
