Steampunk SEO and Mod value

I love this theme, but its SEO value is minimal out of the box. ALL of the article headings are H1 – so you will have ten h1 headings on your page – and the “index.php” page is a mess of includes and can be very difficult to modify.

I do not mean to belittle the creator’s work, but it seems to me that the way the them is constructed, the author is trying to make modifications a difficult as possible.
