• I am one of the ex-NextGen Gallery users that used NextGens for thousends of pictures on several websites for years. If I had written a review a year ago I would probably have given it 4 stars. 4 because some things was a bit strange and didn’t always work.

But I updated to 2.0 when it was released, I experienced problems (slideshows and shortcodes not working for example). I submitted bug reports and was active in the support forum.

I am no developer so I could not participate in the bug testing that took place. My area of expertise is brand and brand management and I shared my views on how I thought Photocrati should handle the problem. They choose another path. I followed all the reviews and the discussions in the support-forum for many weeks and thought that they would have been better off if they had listened to me.

I was patient. My travel blog looked horrible but I understood that the development takes time and that using a free plugin sometimes things doesn’t work.

Today I found the solution in one thread. Considering how many people I have read that has been angry because they have wasted hours upon hours I wanted to share it. Sharing is caring where I come from.

I ended up being told off, that my posts wasn’t in the positive spirit of WordPress. That made me write this review. I expect it to be deleated and will make sure to save a copy.

I strongly suggest that if you do not want to risk spending endless hours sorting out problems stay away from NextGEN gallery 2.0.
