    Hi!
    Neither are required (hence the Required: No.). The description says it all, “Recommended for better performances”.

    In the case of GMagick or IMagick, it might make a difference if you want to use a transparent PNG as a header image. Colors might seem off or inverse. But using JPG everything should be just fine!
