I am having issues with importing Facebook events and wanted to check what aspects of import currently work so that I’m not trying to do something that is currently impossible.

The posts on this forum suggest that importing works completely as does the plugin home page
    https://xylusthemes.com/plugins/wp-event-aggregator/

    However, the documentation(https://docs.xylusthemes.com/docs/import-facebook-events/import-by-facebook-event-id/) states that
“Import By Event ID and Import By Group or private event is not working. We are trying our best to get solution but till then only import by Facebook page will work.”

Import by page is only available in the Pro version and so I haven’t been able to try this.

Is it the case that importing Facebook events is only possible using the Pro version?

  • Hello @xuluwarrior,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

You can import by EventID and ICS file in free version also. If you want to import event using import by EventID then you need to make an event as interested/going and also authorize with facebook needed. Please check it out document here which is helpful to you how to import events.

Feel free to ask if you have any query.
    Thanks

So the information in https://docs.xylusthemes.com/docs/import-facebook-events/import-by-facebook-event-id/ is wrong?

Could you update it so that it reflects the current state of the import functionality.

As I mentioned in my original post I’m having problems getting importing to work. Can you clarify a few questions.

Is it possible to import using an app created last year (before the changes to Facebook events)? Or does it only work with new apps?

The last instruction in the link you sent is to authorise the app. The “Authorise” button is not enabled in the free version of your plugin. Is this step necessary?

I thought I was running the latest plugin but obviously wasn’t. Doh!

I’ve managed to get everything up an running now.

    @lisha56 thank you for help.

If you could correct the information on https://docs.xylusthemes.com/docs/import-facebook-events/import-by-facebook-event-id/ it would help people like me from getting confused.

    Hi

I’m having problems while importing events from FB.
Today I made a new FB app and I have configured it according your instruction.
Everything worked well… at a certain point, after some good imports, the plugin stopped working.

Now I have always the message:
Unsupported get request. Object with ID ‘340662250005707’ does not exist, cannot be loaded due to missing permissions, or does not support this operation. Please read the Graph API documentation at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api

    What is the problem?
I was just doing some imports, no changes to the configuration!

    help me pls!
