It looks like the debug errors you’ve been seeing are mostly related to Stripe Express Checkout’s behavior under specific conditions:

1. Free Products in the Cart – Stripe Express Checkout doesn’t support free products, so if you have test products without a price, that could be triggering the error.
2. No Shipping or Tax Required – Since you sell eBooks, which are zero-rated in some locations, Stripe might be hiding Express Checkout because it expects shipping or tax to be required. This is an odd default behavior, but it explains why the checkout button doesn’t always appear.
3. Apple Pay Verification – This isn’t actually an error. It’s just a log entry confirming that your domain is verified for Apple Pay. If you’re unsure whether Apple Pay is working for customers, you could test it using a simulator or ask a customer with an Apple device to confirm.

Other aspect of the code you shared are just notice and not errors like “start log—account—end log” and “start log—webhooks_endpoints—end log,” those seem to be internal system logs rather than actual errors.

To answer your question, the plugin does support express checkout options like Google Pay and Apple Pay. Just to make sure I understand—are none of your products showing the Apple Pay or Google Pay buttons if the price is above $0.10?

If that’s the case, it would help to take a look at your System Status Report to get a better idea of your setup. You can find this in your WooCommerce dashboard under WooCommerce > Status. From there, click Get system report and then Copy for support.

Also, if you’re seeing any fatal error logs, those could give us more clues. You can check them under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

Once you’ve gathered that info, you can paste it into a Code block in your reply, or if it’s a long report, you can use pastebin.com and share the link.

I can only answer this based on what I see when doing my own testing. All of my products DO show Google Pay (no apple devices in this household so no button to test for them). But, um… looking at my settings again showed that I had Google\Apple checked for you plugin AND the PP plugin, although it’s interesting those payments were going through PP not Stripe. Anyway…

Back to Stripe, with all settings verified correct. The only way to pay using your plugin–at least as far as I can see–is to add things to the cart first, which isn’t very intuitive and certainly isn’t express, so that’s why I’m questioning the lack of the express feature. Express/Link is enabled in settings so now I’m wondering if this is like the Apple button. Am I not seeing something because I haven’t saved my CC to Link/Stripe? Is LiteSpeed Cache messing something up? Or am I just blind–which is a very real possibility!

Thank you for the detailed explanation and clarification. To ensure I understand correctly, are you saying that you have Express Checkout enabled for both Stripe and PayPal, or is Link only enabled on Stripe? Please clarify, as enabling Apple Pay and Google Pay on both plugins could potentially cause conflicts.

Also, just to confirm, is the issue you described related specifically to Link by Stripe? If possible, please share your website link so we can inspect it ourselves and get a clearer understanding of the issue.

I did have both enabled, but any G-Pay testing was getting handled by PayPal so I didn’t even notice, since that’s the behavior I wanted. And I don’t know if the issue is related to Link. As far as your backend says, Link IS the express checkout, and I have it enabled. But as far as me seeing any changes on the frontend, whether it’s enabled or not, there is no visible or functional difference. Which is why I asked if this is similar behavior to having Apple enabled. Since I don’t have an apple device, I don’t see it. Since I personally don’t have my CC saved to Link, am I not seeing the so-called “express checkout?”

To reiterate: All settings are correct–assuming Link/Stripe really should be offering a one-click express checkout like the PayPal and G-Pay buttons do. Stripe is tested and working as it should–as far as processing payments go, at least. However, the only way for someone to actually pay with Stripe is to add their items–whether single or multiple–to the cart, view the cart, proceed to checkout, and THEN choose the pay with credit card option.

Going back to my initial post where where the log is saying express isn’t showing because of $0 items, I also changed/looked at that. There is one item not available yet that doesn’t have a price so I added a price. Still no express. And the only other test items I have–that don’t have a price–are in draft mode and hopefully irrelevant.

I don’t know what else to check, although I think I might have stumbled on something just now. The ONLY way–it appears–for your plugin to customize/select where express checkout is seen is if Google and Apple Pay are selected.

Thank you for the explanation. To better understand your settings, please provide a full screenshot of both your PayPal and Stripe settings pages.

For the Stripe screenshot, navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe > Payment Methods. Scroll down to the express checkout section, take a screenshot, and share it.

Please do the same for PayPal so I can compare both settings and check what you have enabled.

The missing piece here seems to be the Pay with Link button. That could be due to a plugin or theme conflict.

A quick way to check is by temporarily disabling all other plugins except WooCommerce and Stripe, switching to the Storefront theme, and then seeing if the Pay with Link button appears at checkout. If it does, we’ll know there’s something interfering with it.

Also, since you mentioned that express checkout isn’t showing even for products priced above $0, could you share a direct link to one of those products?

Unfortunately, since all my plugins are necessary, and I’m not changing my theme, I guess I’m disabling Link.

I understand your concern about not wanting to disable your plugins. However, since you’re experiencing issues with Link Express checkout, there could be an underlying problem—not just with Link, but possibly with other plugins that could cause issues later on. It’s best to try identifying the root cause.

An alternative approach is to set up a staging site. You can do this by migrating a copy of your live site to a subdomain or using the staging feature provided by your hosting provider.

Once the staging site is ready, disable all plugins except WooCommerce and the Stripe plugin, switch to the Storefront theme, and check if the issue persists. Please share the staging site link along with your system status report.
