Hi! I need some help I have this plugin installed and I received an email notification telling me that A file change was detected on my system for my site.

I logged in and noticed no unusual activity. No failed login attempts, no other users logged in. When I was checking the Filesystem Security, I noticed down in the progress bar that it said waiting for niubbys.altervista.org – so I looked up the site in google safe diagnostics and it indicated that “Some subdomains contain pages that are not safe to visit right now” and “Dangerous websites have been sending visitors to this website”.

Could you please tell me what is going on? Have I been hacked?

    Thank you.

Hi, to investigate further if you think you have been hacked please read the following troubleshooting tips FAQ_My_site_was_hacked from www.remarpro.com.

The file change detection feature would have given you a list of files which were:
    – modified
    – added
    – deleted

Also note that the file change detection feature will be triggered for the following common events:
    – when your wordpress version has been updated
    – when you update or install a plugin or theme
    – when you upload some media files
    – cache plugins which make changes to files often

So I would recommend that you check which files were changed and if the file changes were unexpected, then at least you will know which files were changed or added and you can take action accordingly.

You are right wpsolutions. I checked with my hosting account. I hadn’t read the extensive change log that was sent to me initially; after I did, I saw that it was just previous plugin updates I had made. *feeling dumb*
