stats plugin shows “ghost visitors” to old site!

  • I have a weird problem.

    I had a blog on my own domain, like mydomain.com/wordpress/

    Then I deleted that blog when I updated to a more recent version of WP. I also moved the wordpress directory one level up, so you didn’t have to type /wordpress/.

    Now, several months later, I installed the stats plugin (again, I had it in the previous blog as well). But now it says I have visitors on some of the now non-existent posts which belonged to the previous blog!

    What could this be?! Is it ghosts? :S Please help!

  • You need to install the GhostBusters plugin.

    j/k – Even if you had the stats plugin disabled for some time, the old records for it were still in the database, so perhaps the records are still stuck in there. You may want to try clearing the stats if the plugin supports it.
