Stationary Header and HTML Anchors

I am developing a new website and using the Himalayas Theme. It will be a single page site for now. On the main page, I have defined several HTML Anchors which users when the click on a menu choice, it will bring them to the corresponding section on the page.

The problem is that when I click on the menu choice, it scrolls down to the correct area, but the beginning of the area is hidden under the menu and cannot be seen. This would be very confusing the user and would not work. IS there a way I can offset the scrolling so the the section appears right under the header menu and does not scroll under it?
