I have installed and setup three WP websites this week. All the same with static web pages and setup for the blog:

    admin > Options > Reading.

    a) One Page for front
    b) One Page for posts

For some reason, my newest site will not cooperate with this setup. The blog page displays the following message:

    “Not Open For Business
Sorry, there are no posts yet! Come back in a few days.”

This is despite the fact that I have a number of blog postings, that can be confirmed by looking at the front page sidebar, under “sideblog” and popular posts”

    Any ideas?

Do you have the necessary code in index.php of your theme to show blog entries?

I assume so. As I say, it worked on the other two websites just fine. What am I looking for in index.php?

globetrotterdk, the brazen theme that you are using likely has a hardcoded category id for the blog portion inside the theme file that is displaying that category, and the 404 section of the code in the loop must be displaying this “Not Open For Business”.
I can take a look ( theblogdoctor[at]gmail[dot]com ) for you and fix it for FREE if you like….

    Thanks

    Hi Blog Doctor,

Thanks for the offer. I just contacted the developer of the theme to see what he has to say, if anything, as I am not sure that this is a theme issue. Now I am waiting for a reply. I tried replacing the index.php file with one from another of my WP websites without any change. Keep the line open in just in case and I’ll get back to you.

    Cheers

At the moment the blog appears to be functioning – I see a post titled “Culture Shock”.

That is just the static front page. You have to press the “blog” link.
