    I am trying to help my client who has bought the Elite version of the product but we just can’t get shipping to work properly in the feed for Google Shopping. We just want to show a simple fixed cost value for the products that we are putting through the feed (in practice we have very complicated shipping but this fixed price will be fine for the products we are putting to Google Merchant Center)

    We just want shipping to be shown in the feed as:
    <g:shipping>
    <g:country>GB</g:country> <g:service>Royal Mail Tracked</g:service> <g:price>4.50</g:price>
    </g:shipping>

    I created a static value for this in field mapping and put in
    <g:country>GB</g:country> <g:service>Royal Mail Tracked</g:service> <g:price>4.50</g:price>

    But this just puts
    <g:shipping/>
    into the feed for every product.

    I’m utterly baffled about how your feed handles <g:shipping> because it has components within it and yet the system gives me no control over this.

    Has anybody got any way to just set a fixed shipping value in an appropriate manner that Google will accept please?

  • Hi websanity,

    Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

    Like you experienced yourselves already, the shipping cost implementation is fairly complex and is in terms of coding one of the biggest and complex parts of our plugin. The upside is that our plugin is able to transform the complex WooCommerce shipping zones and methods into a piece of XML that Google accepts. The downside of it however is that compared to other attributes changing the shipping costs to something else is almost impossible.

    In your case the solution is simple. I advise you not to add static shipping costs to the feed at all but configure the shipping costs directly in Google’s Merchant Center. This article explains how to do so: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6069284?hl=en

    Hope this helps?

    All the best,

    Thanks, I bet shipping rules are a challenge for you ??

    I have set that up and once Google’s advertising system wakes up maybe we can start giving them loads of money ??

    Thanks for your help,
    Gerald

    You are welcome, let me know if this solved the issue at hand.

    All the best,
