Static Pages: Text Appearing Twice

Hello all. I recently came back to my blog after a long hiatus and installed a new theme (the popular and free Elixir theme) which I downloaded off the net. As I was setting up various pages, I noticed that the text on the page was appearing twice:

I switched themes and it turns out it’s universal and not just effected by some bug. Is there a fix inside wordpress I can do to correct this?
