• Hi!

Just wondering -before I reinvent the wheel- if someone spent a thought on how to tighten security & catch situations where either the DB server is down or back up but without the proper backups restored.

What can happen in this case is that anyone trying to access your blog can temporarily reinstall, login and have display any content – not a good thing!

What I’d like to achieve is

    (a) generally show a static & branded (theme!) page when the DB server is unavailable
    (b) if the DB is available but no tables present show the same static page (as opposed to the New Install page)

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

is this requirement so “far fetched” ? i would have thought more people would have experienced unscheduled DB downtimes / temporarily high-jacked WP installs.
