Static Pages & Blog in one site

I’m running WP 3.0.1 with Twenty-Ten theme for a new site.

I want to have a static HomePage, where users always land, but then have the Blog post “pages” be the primary “child” off the Home page. I’ll need to have a few more static child pages off of Home, too.

Said in plain English, if you think of it in a tree-branch view. I need a static Home page, with two branches — one the blog posts and the other the static page branch.

Can I do this?
