Static page with modifiable content areas

Hi Folks,

I’ve just started on a new WP theme and was looking for some advice:

• The site will have a static front page
• Within this page there are three divs with different information
• No other page on the site is like this
• the content of one, two or all three of these boxes may need altered, from time to time

I am building this for someone who can update posts and pages, but is not savvy enough to go into the code and modify the bits they need.

I was wondering if there was a way that this page could pull content for all three boxes from an input box?

Is a plugin like flutter good for this – if so, how?

Or can I do something like create a custom template with everything stripped away except the content, make a page for each box then use a php include to bring them in?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
