• Hello, and thanks in advance for any help/feedback!

Almost everyday, and sometimes multiple times a day, the static page of my e-commerce site randomly switches to the Blog/Recent Posts page. I am not sure what is triggering this.

    Theme: Peto
    WordPress: 5.6

    I have done the following:

    1. Created a static page
    2. Appearance > customize > homepage settings > selected the page as the static page
    3. Settings > reading > selected the page as the static page

Any help is appreciated! Again, thank you!

Do you have any caching plugins? This sounds like a caching thing.

I don’t believe I have any caching plugins. I do use Siteground as a host, and I believe they have a built in caching solution. However, this issue was happening before I switched to Siteground.

Things just don’t happen “randomly”. I’m seeing what looks like a shop page at the link you posted.

Sorry if I’m using randomly incorrectly. What I mean is that sometimes when I visit my site on different occasions during the day, I notice that the main page is not the static page that I manually set. It’s the blog/recent posts page that has nothing to do with my e-commerce site.

After noticing, I then have to login and reset the static page either by going to the Settings link or Appearance link in the WordPress dashboard. Unfortunately, this is just a temporary fix until I notice again that the main page has changed to the blog/recent posts page.

I’m trying to identify what is causing the static page to change. I don’t want it to change unless I manually change it. I hope that makes a little more sense.

That sounds, again, like a caching issue, either on your server, via a plugin, or in your browser. Ask SG to disable their caching for a while so you can rule that out, and check your plugins to see if any do caching, too.

Thank you Steven! I will try that. SiteGround has what is called NGINX Direct Delivery. This is the message it states:

For best results we highly recommend having NGINX Direct Delivery enabled at all times. However, if you need to use custom caching .htaccess rules for your static content you may need to switch it off.
