Static page is not working. HELP!!!

  • Ok so I upgraded to 3.0 and I have had front page to display a static page but now whenever I try and navigate to my post page it just links me back to my static page, so there is no way to navigate to my post page. Only way is to make my homepage my “Your latest posts”

    So basically after setting a static page my blog is stuck on it. I can go to other pages but not my post page.

    It was working perfectly fine right before I upgraded.

  • Seems like this issue is quite common in 3.0. Have you disabled all plugins and tested the blog link? Some are experiencing this issue with re-direct type plugins, but some, like me didn’t (I restored a database backup from 2.9.2 on my 3.0 install and ran the database upgrade routine, which seem to fix it).

    It’s a bug with 3.0 and using static pages as a home page, such as required by a theme template. Disabling all plugins has no effect. I had the same problem, and the only way I fixed it was to restore a backup database and not create any new pages (for some reason, the creating of a new page seems to set this behavior off). However, there remain issues about pagination of static pages.

    Just an FYI, for those who got this bug and don’t have a back-up, I was able to contact my host company and they corrected it by removing the redirection from the wp_redirection_items in the database.

    I tried restoring my database to a copy I made before upgrading to no avail. Odd thing is, my other blog with the same theme and really almost the same structure was not affected, so I’m using that one for times I need to make a page and just linking it to my main site.
