Static Page Instead of Posts

  • Hello –

    I added a new page to my WordPress site today and I haven’t modified the first page option (I used to have posts showing first). All of the sudden the new page is what pops up first instead of my posts. I can’t see anything different about this new page than other pages. Though I did create the other pages under a different theme (Atathualpa) than the one I now use.. But under the general tab, the options remain the same…

    If you go to the site https://www.straightpathsql.com instead of seeing my posts, you’ll see that WP changes the url to straightpathsql.com/welcome…

    I deleted that new page.. And WordPress is still trying to redirect me to it when I go to my default URL. I am totally stumped with this one… This is getting to be a big issue because now my site is entirely screwed up from simply adding a page.

    I looked at my htaccess just to rule something out there and there are no redirects that were mysteriously added on my behalf…

    I disabled a redirect plugin and that seems to have fixed it…
