Static Offline Backup Copy – How?

I’m really liking wordpress combined with gallery2. My site will be just your basic diary/photo album. I want to be able to backup the site to a CD or DVD so that someone would only need a web browser in order to view the site. I don’t want to have to rely on having anything else installed. From reading old posts, it seems like the best solution just to use something like HTTrack (windows)? I would just like to know that my kids kids will be able to read about what I did and see my photos many years from now.
