I’m trying to make my homepage a static page. Followed the instructions to go to Settings >Reading and pick the page I want to be the static front page.

The page I selected has content (A quote and an image), and it is published.

Instead, what I get is it showing me is the blog posts. I’m lost on what to do here.

Here are screens of my Reading settings and of my list of pages:

I’ve deleted unused plugins and themes, tried deactivating plugins, restarted the server and flushed the cache by going to permalinks and hitting save.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Your website is already using the configured static “Home” page — it’s just not using the content on the page.

And the reason it’s not using the content is that your Benevolent theme is overriding it… and displaying its own stuff as intended by the theme’s author.

If you want your homepage to look as shown on the theme’s demo, head over to APPEARANCE => CUSTOMIZE => HOME PAGE SETTINGS … and configure every single one of the sections under it. You can find detailed configuration instructions from the Benevolent theme’s documentation page.

If, on the other hand, you’re not interested in the theme’s beautiful homepage and simply want to display the content of the configured “home” page, go to the same APPEARANCE => CUSTOMIZE => HOME PAGE SETTINGS… but this time make sure every single one of the sections is disabled (ie check mark removed).

After disabling ALL the 6 sections, hit PUBLISH — and your homepage should now show the content on the configured “Home” page.

If you still have a problem with this or need help with configuring your theme, please post in the Benevolent theme’s own support forum — so you’ll get help from the theme’s developer and user community.

    Good luck!
