• I have wordpress installed in the root.

    I want to have:

    A static homepage

    A news page, that would list new posts much like a standard wordpress homepage.

    I am using the latest version of wordpress.

    I can see how to make a wordpress page a static page but then I have an extra page in my menu.

    For example if I have two pages, Welcome and About and I set Welcome as being the static page. I get Home, Welcome AND about in my menu when all I really want is: Home and About because Welcome IS the HOME page.

    So I need to know if that is possible and how to do it.

    Your help appreciated very much.

  • That’s a theme-specific issue, so provide links to:
    the theme’s homepage;
    your blog;

    Usually it is caused by a hardcoded link in your theme files.

    You mean the Home is a hardcoded link?

    So your saying I should remove this hardcoded home link and I would only then have a Welcome and About page?

    Have I got it?

    I suspect it is like that…
